jellyfin

  • start from scratch by deleting any existing jellyfin servers (in the app or web browser)

  • go to jellyfin in a web browser (eg firefox or chrome). hit 'authelia' and log in. your username is your email address. if it says 'incorrect username or password', then hit 'reset password?'

  • then go to your other jellyfin apps (eg tv or phone), and enter the host 'https://jellyfin.cliny.net'. get the quick connect code and enter that in to jellyfin quick connect in your web browser


    • pro tips

  • go to seerr to request movies/shows, and to report issues (put 'wrong' in the 'whats wrong?' field)

  • if things aren't working as expected, try reinstalling your apps, clearing your cache and cookies, rebooting your devices, etc

  • you can adjust your personal jellyfin settings (i recommend changing: preferred audio language to english, play default audio track regardless of language to no, subtitle mode to none)

  • name change from "jellyseerr" to "seerr"

  • i try my best to leave my server alone and just let it function. but some times i change software to make it better, i get hardware failures, and internet outages. it'll be up 99% of the time, but there's gonna be reboots and resets. i know it's frustrating af when it doesn't work
